Photography Equipment
SLR Camera
We use a Canon EOS 6D camera. This camera is fast, very robust and works well in low light situations - so for us, as a travelling family it is perfect. Trace straps it on over her shoulder and off we go with the kids. We generally don't have the luxury (or the time) to use a tripod so with the impressive low light performance we can take some quick snaps of the kids at the beach and the camera is very forgiving with any camera shake or movement from our busy kids!
Lens: We use a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM Standard Zoom Lens
Filters: We ALWAYS make sure we have a filter on our camera lens to protect it. We use a Polariser or a normal UV filter (click here for an example). Be sure to purchase quality filters as there is no point having an amazing lens then using a crappy filter ontop.
SD Card: Working with kids and being on the road a lot we take loads on images and do not have much time to download so we use the biggest SD card we can - the more images and video we can take the better. We choose a reliable brand like scan disk.
Underwater - GoPro
We also use a GoPro Hero 3 for our underwater photography and use a Knekt Dome Port (with the trigger pole) for our over-under shots.
Video
Our video footage is mostly filmed on our phones – yes, that’s right, our Samsung Galaxy S6 and S7 do an awesome job (as well as the occasional clip captured by the GoPro and the Canon SLR).

Travel Blog Success Course & Community
When we decided to change our website into a blog we signed up to Travel Blog Success. We have learnt so much from this online course and still have so much to learn in the ever changing always evolving world of online blogging and social media. This is not just a education tool, it is also an online community and support network. In our opinion and many other bloggers we know, it is a must do and a great place to start if you want to start a travel blog.
Affiliate Marketing
Many bloggers and online influencers skip over affiliate marketing. They either think it's too hard, that it's a waste of time, that they will turn followers away, or that their followers just won't be interested However, this is not the case. We have learnt so much from Michelle in this online course and are starting to add a few affiliate links into our posts, it is an amazing way to generate some income from all your hard work. We figure, once you have made a few affiliate sales on your site you have paid for the course fee!! Win Win.

Everybody needs a 'web guy (or gal)' to call upon to make sure everything is running smoothly. We recently upgraded our website and as you can imagine this was a HUGE task! We had so many blog posts with images and videos that we needed to migrate from our old website to this new website.
